Mark Messenbaugh joined SomaLogic in 2008, committed to developing the breakthrough SomaScan® technology into a world-leading health information platform. Throughout his tenure with the company, he has served leadership on matters of corporate strategy and the development of new business alliances and market opportunities.
Mr. Messenbaugh’s professional background touches law, public and non-profit service and business strategy. Prior to SomaLogic, he worked as a corporate attorney at two leading national law firms — New York-based Davis Polk & Wardwell, and D.C.-based Arnold & Porter — and as a law clerk for Judge Wilfred Feinberg in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He also wrote briefs for the Bush v. Gore presidential recount litigation. He partnered with Colorado Attorney General Ken Salazar and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to create the Partnership for Youth Development and later led government relations for the non-profit. He has consulted for Fortune 500 companies to deliver competitive business war games that reveal the consequences of strategic moves in a dynamic competitive environment, and with innovators to develop effective business models.
Mr. Messenbaugh received his Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School and his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University. He was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for studies in philosophy in Germany and completed an Executive Certificate in Strategy & Innovation from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
