Ruben Gutierrez

General Counsel

Ruben Gutierrez joined SomaLogic as General Counsel in 2021. Most recently, Mr. Gutierrez was Vice President, Legal and Corporate Affairs for Natera, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTRA), a genetic testing company based in San Carlos, California. Prior to joining Natera, Mr. Gutierrez served as the General Counsel of Human Longevity, Inc., a San Diego based genomics research and health intelligence company.

Before joining Human Longevity, Mr. Gutierrez served as Division Counsel, Biosciences at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. (NYSE: TMO). Prior to its acquisition by Thermo Fisher Scientific, Ruben held roles of increasing responsibility in the legal group of Life Technologies Corporation, including serving as the Lead M&A Diligence and Integrations Counsel and as Lead Corporate Counsel for the Ion Torrent next-generation sequencing business unit.

Mr. Gutierrez received a Masters of Law in Taxation from the New York University School of Law, a Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles.
